Uninsured Driver Accidents

Sometimes you may find yourself involved in an accident with another vehicle that fails to stop or provide details. If you took a registration number and the offending vehicle can be identified you may still be able to claim compensation from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.

If you have been involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist you should instruct an expert personal injury solicitor as soon as possible after the incident. At Notmyfault we will search the Motor Insurance Database to check if there is a motor insurance policy in place. If there is, we will contact and deal with the other driver’s insurance company.

If there is no policy in place, we can make a claim on your behalf to the Motor Insurers’ Bureau for compensation. We will deal with your claim in the same way as any other motoring claim. However, please be aware that the MIB has its own rules and can sometimes make the claims process against uninsured drivers more difficult and the claim may take longer to be settled.
